When I walk onto campus each day, it's easy to look around and think, "There are 40,000 students here...what difference does my presence make?" And yet, we serve a big and mighty God. In my quiet time this morning, I read Psalm 78 and was struck by the authority and power of our King, " He divided the sea and let them pass through it, and made the water stand like a heap...He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them abundantly as from the deep" (v. 13,15). This is the same God who is at work at UBC, it's time we give Him our hopes and dreams and watch Him work!
At a planning retreat for ministry next year, students wrote their dreams for UBC on post-its that we put on the wall, our own "field of dreams". It was incredible to read their hopes and crazy ideas of what our Mighty King can do!!
Here are some....
I'd like to see 250 students and faculty come to know Christ
100 students sent to serve in various countries
Depressed students will have new hope and joy in God's love
Revival in Totem (first year residence)
My whole nursing class would hear the Gospel
20 People going on summer project
At least one person join the body of believers each day
Students thirsty for God
Let's join the students in praying boldly for UBC!!!
"...But tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders he has done." (Psalm 78:4)
